hi guys and gals
need to cover my tanks in the fish house for two reasons 1, had a few jumpers recently and 2, more importantly need to keep the humidity and moisture down in there a bit as thisns are atarting to get rather damp lol
bearing in mind i have about 14 tanks need covering can anyone suggest an alternative to glass but much cheaper links would be appreciated.
what do my fellow fish house owners use??????
oh and obviously i want them to allow as much light as possible.
your help would be much appreciated
cheers

Hi Chris,
I use clear corregated sheeting for my tanks. A bugger to cut though, i was using sissors, not a good idea. Doh!
Lets plenty of light, very easy to slide around lift and maintain and most importantly, it's safe. No severed thumbs with this stuff, lol. ;p
This stuff cant be beat

Easy to cut very tough and comes in large sheets
I used some clear perspex (or similar) sheets I got from work probably through RS or Farnell not sure what they cost though?? I'll see if i can find out tomorrow.

If you are looking to prevent heat loss then the stuff sean posted would be the best, but make sure you tape the edges after they have been cut.

Hi Chris
I use glass sliders on all my tanks. If I need new ones I go down the double glazers and ask if they will sell me a few old windows and then cut them to size. Avoid the newer windows that have a little note on them "Toughened" as you can't cut them. You get two sheets of glass from each old double glazed unit.
