No worries matie. (just explains why you didn't get many replies)

If your experiencing poor clutches of eggs with minimal hatchings, it maybe worth assessing what your feeding. To get a healthy sized cluth, you should be feeding a balanced diet with plenty of protein.

If everything seems right on that front, i'd have to plumb for a duff female.

Thanks for the reply, i think it could be a duff female.
im feeding them on flake, sinking pellets and ZM sinking pellets which are very high protein at 55%. also bloodworm, looks like a trip to my LFS for a new cory

Hi PSG, welcome to the forum..From Stockport i see, only down the road from me in Runcorn!! I also breed C.sterbai.

Are you watching the entire spawning to see whats going on? sometimes the pair or group can eat the eggs as soon as they are laid, ive often come into the fishroom and found only 5-6 eggs that are left after a long spawning, i know for a fact that my fish average around 80 eggs per spawning.

A few more details about your setup and experiences with Sterbai may help to find out whats wrong..

Cheers, Ste.

Well?? have you watched them? whats going on? did any get eaten, i cant believe that she would only lay 15 eggs, mine lay that in 10 minutes..And spawn for about three hours at a time..

Forgive me if i dont remember you just from the vague description, i will if i see you again but not from a description like that, i have many many people visit my fishroom and a awful lot buy Kribs and rams lol"Big Smile" Ive moved now and have more tanks, your welcome back anytime...

I agree with ste it sounds like they are eating there own eggs, probably best to invest in an egg tumbler & remove eggs once spawning has finished
